Bread has a bad reputation. Sure, if you eat a loaf of refined white bread daily, you are going to pack on the pounds. Refined flours stick to your insides like glue! Ever notice, when working with white flour, how STICKY it is? Exactly.
Stick to this healthy, homemade recipe, enjoy a slice or two per day .. and you’re golden. Just like this beautiful loaf is 🙂
Ingredients:
3 1/4 cups kamut flour
1 tsp salt
1 envelope dry active yeast or 8 measured grams
1 tsp maple syrup
1 3/4 cups warm water
Method of Madness:
Line a 9×5 loaf pan with parchment paper
In a bowl, mix dry ingredients together with a mixing spoon
Dissolve the maple syrup in water (stir to mix) then pour in bowl of dry ingredients
Mix well until everything pulls neatly away from the sides of the bowl. You will notice how non-sticky this perfect dough is!
Ease the dough into the prepared pan, cover with a damp dish towel and leave in a warm place for about 30 -60 minutes until dough has risen to double its original size.
Preheat the oven to 400ºF and bake for about 30-35 min. Do a toothpick test to determine whether or not the insides have cooked through.
Remove from pan on to wire rack to cool, slice & enjoy!
I enjoy this bread toasted with an olive oil drizzle or good ol’ natural PB. Drool!
